CSS XSS RSS ASS?

authored on Saturday, September 1st 2007

How did you spend your merdeka? Holidaying? Pak Tor-ing? I was ss-sing! In just 3 days I learnt every single of the 4 items listed on the title.

 CSS - Cascading style sheet. Cool stuff. Imagine you want to change all your links color to green, just add in your external style sheet

a:link{
color:green;
}

piece of cake.

XSS - Last known was called Cross Site Scripting, but many people started to get confused between Cascading  Style Sheet and Cross Site Scripting, so they named the latter as XSS. So what’s XSS? basically it’s preventing you from using javascript or any language for that matter to manipulate a page that doesn’t belong to you. For example, you can’t click a button and autofill my search box because… well, that’s XSS for you.

RSS -  Really Simple Syndication. What’s so simple about it? I’ve been on the web for over two years now and I couldn’t really figure out how and what RSS is for until I had my own personal Merdeka these last 3 days. Creating your own RSS feeds means to compile all your information into a file say “rss.xml” with xml standard coding. It’s really simple because everything in the rss.xml has a head and a body.

<title>This is my first rss</title>
<description>Tomagogame? Never heard of him. </description>
<url>http://www.tomagogame.com</url>

so on and so forth. Go google “create my first rss feeds”.

ASS - Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh……. I’m sure you and I know what this means. Nope, nothing related to a donkey. It’s a biological chemistry that happens when one consumes a lot. ASS is nothing more than an abbr of ASSimiliation. Digestion. Ingestion.

OKay, the last one was crap but hey, 3 of the 4 were useful stuff and learning how to implement them into my work gives me more added value and thus increase pay.

Comment quickly and you might get a free lunch from me ;)

How Much Can You Ask of Life?

authored on Sunday, April 8th 2007

Here is a quote from Napoleon Hill, Think and Grow Rich:

“I bargained with Life for a penny,
and Life would pay no more,
however I begged at evening when I
counted my scanty store.

For Life is a just employer,
he gives you what you ask.
But once you have set the wages,
why, you must bear the task.

I work for a menial’s hire,
only to learn, dismayed,
that any wage I had asked of Life,
Life would have really paid.”So, how much have you ask of life?

If life is treating you well, you would agree that you have paid the price and you fully deserve what you have.

There is no such thing as something for nothing.  To get something you must return some services or favors in exchange for the money that you want.

Procrastination, hesitate, slow moving, are the main causes of why people never reached the dreams they long for.

So, how much have you ask of life?  Are you willing to pay the price?

I did.  I took the time to build web pages, build blogs, write articles, learn programming… all these that I learned, by offering them to people, life will give back to me in abundance!

Do you have any experience to share?

Five Things You Don’t Know about Tomagogame

authored on Thursday, April 5th 2007

Some fellow tagged me  so now I have to talk about some grandmother stories… just kidding!

Here are five things that I believe, no one knows about:

1. 80% of my blog I not typed but voice initiated!  The words that you see here, are literally typed as I speak into a microphone.  Isn’t that cool!

2. I learned how to write 1 to 10 in Korean in one sitting. ir i sam sa wo puk chir par ku sim. See!  I can write it though I can’t put the Korean characters on my website.

3. I drink carrot and apple juice every morning (unless I run out of fruits to juice).  Have yogurt and oats for lunch. Ain’t I health-conscious?

4.  Thanks to the carrot juice and a detoxification program, I look 10 years younger :-)

5. Though many say I am a computer expert, I have no idea how to use RSS feeds!

These five things doesn’t make the world a better place to live in so I will tag no one. Get a life!

Hello world!

authored on Saturday, February 24th 2007

Hello World!

Argh, the memories of how that came about. Back when I was in my programming college in Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT) back in year 2000, every language that I first learn from COBOL to C++, all have this thing in common, to write a program that displays “hello world” on the screen. Wordpress is no exception.

Hi, I’m Tomagogame and I welcome you to this blog. This blog came about because I’ve many people (as many as my fingers and toes only) coming to ask me ‘how do you make money on the internet?’ type of question. I ain’t the best person there is to teach but since you guys are here because you somehow came into my circle of influence (in other words, friends), I hope to make this blog an educational one which will teach you the milk of the internet because you get the meat.

Questions like, ‘how to make money’ is step #100 while ‘how to build a website’ is step #50. So what’s step #1? Well, let’s wait for the next blog post.

In the meantime, why don’t you post a comment below and ask me questions you would like me to answer to? That way I can build a post with each question asked and thus build a site so valuable and simple to understand every granny and mummy can learn internet marketing.

Regards,
Tomagogame.

P.S. The word ‘Tomagogame’ means EggGame. It was first inspired by a japanese movie which a couple was tossing eggs to each other while they distance themselves with every throw. since egggame.com has been taken… like the old cliche, the rest is history. Bleh.
