I Saw A Fist Fight — Double Combat!

authored on Friday, May 15th 2009

Ever since I was a child, I’ve wanted to learn martial arts. As far as I knew, there were two styles available. Keep in mind I was six at the time. Anyway, regardless of who I heard speak on the subject, they always referred to self-defense as karate or kung fu. Wow, does this ever say a lot about westerners! Sadly most of them still do this even today. The truth is there are over a hundred different martial arts. I doubt anyone could even give you an exact number, because someone is always founding a new style. This is totally fine and to be expected. As time moves on, fighting arts must evolve. It only makes sense. Standard martial arts videos people used to purchase in the 80s can be completely contradicted by ones created today.

So what are the good martial arts videos, and where can I find them? Hmm, this is a very broad statement considering the vast array of martial arts out there. The question is; what are you aiming to learn and/or accomplish? If you’re interested in learning Tai Chi on your own, there are a number of quality and highly recommended martial arts videos available. Or maybe you want to practice Brazilian Ju Jitsu with your buddy, but have no idea where to begin. I would recommend martial arts videos from the family who started this style. The Gracies have a number of desirable martial arts videos on the market now days. This is certainly becoming one of the most popular arts to learn for competition and ground fighting techniques.

Choosing a style can be tricky. So before you turn to the deluge of martial arts videos, I suggest you think about something. What kind of fighting system do you want to practice? A stand-up style or a grappling style? Close range combat, or a martial art that utilizes high kicking techniques? I can give you a few examples that might help clarify. Wing Chun and western boxing are both stand-up, close range combat styles. Brazilian Ju Jitsu and catch as catch wrestling are both grappling/ground fighting arts. Then styles like Tae Kwon Do, Muay Thai kickboxing, and Karate are stand-up styles that do a lot of kicking. This should help when you’re searching for martial arts videos. Remember, all styles have something to offer.

Man Shall Not Live By Bread Alone

Man Shall Not Live By Bread Alone But By Every Word That Proceeds From The Mouth of God.

God used the 2 million ++ israelites he saved out of Egypt, led them around for 40 years, supporting them with cloud by day fire by night, give them enough food that rots the next day, birds that just fall out of the sky, shirts that never get worn out, shoes that never worn out, just to teach them that “Man Shall Not Live By Bread Alone But By Every Word That Proceeds From The Mouth of God”. Amazing!

What the Israelites practiced in the physical, after the New Testament, we practice in the spiritual.

Cash at Noon Fire at Night

authored on Friday, April 3rd 2009

What a strange…. strange…. day.

Went to the bank to collect my adsense. WEEE!!!!

adsense cash

Once again catching my faithful vehicle at “222″ sequal as previous posts was at “777″ and “888″

adsense 222

Then my neighbour’s house got steam out of his roof.

fireman

So firemen came and took down two panels of his windows to turn off the switch.

(reminds me of Microsoft’s joke… how many technicians does it take to change a light bulb)

(and the answer to that joke is… an accountant, a documentor, an engineer – carry ladder and an electrician)

(LOL)

and i forgot to turn the pic… so turn your head.

“twist and pull, twist and pull” – a qoute from Bolt.

firetruck

While my van is at “222″, the fireengine behind is brand new and much bigger than mine.

police men

And brand new is the fire engine.

The picture is distorted. I couldn’t get a full pic without a tree standing in the middle….

So turning on trusty Photoshop, Photomerge, tada.

fire engine

Oh yea, there were two fireengines. both look brand new. Even a police came with an Uzi O_o

Once again, our neighbourhood is save and sound.

We can all claim a part of that bomba coz we pay our taxes. Muahahaha.

Who wants a test drive?

EDITED : Oh yea, believe it or not, no one in my neighbourhood knows the number of any of the family members of my neighbour. Bad neighbours we are huh…. But I went to their post box, took one letter, took 5 minutes and google out their phone numbers. MUAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!!!

I feel like superman after that :D

Prayer Is More Important

authored on Sunday, September 14th 2008

Have been going through some Christian materials of a book called “Give Me 40 Days”.

Though I’ve not completed the process, the prayer quotes within inspires me to pray more.

Prayer is such an overlooked ‘activity’ yet when you’ve no where else to turn…. what does one do? Pray of coz.

Ah, the powers above, the Guy upstairs, God…

All of these quotes are by famous people such as Martin Luthur King, C.S. Lewis and such talks or prays so much that these quotes seem to be their core values.

So here goes. May it help you as much as it has helped me.

•    The first purpose of the prayer is to move the pray-er.
•    I have been driven many times to my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had nowhere else to go.
•    Prayer does not change God, but changes him who prays.
•    Satan trembles when e sees the weakest saint upon his knees.
•    Prayer is a rising up and a drawing near to God in mind and in heart and in spirit.
•    When am I trying to get God to do that I should be doing myself? Restore a relationship? Resolve a problem at work? Choose my career? What will I take responsibility for today?
•    When life knocks you to your knees – well, that’s the best position in which to pray, isn’t it?
•    We are too busy to pray, and so we are too busy to have power. We have a great deal of activity, but we accomplish little; many services but few conversions; much machinery but few results.
•    In prayer it is better to have a heart without words than words without heart.
•    Lord, help me live from day to day In such a self-forgetful way, That even when I kneel to pray, My prayer shall be for others.
•    Every time we pray, our horizon is altered, our attitude to things is altered, not sometimes but every time, and the amazing thing is that we don’t pray more.
•    Don’t expect a thousand-dollar answer to a ten-cent prayer.
•    If Christians spent as much time praying as they do grumbling, they would soon have nothing to grumble about.
•    Prayer is not only “the practice of the presence of God,” it is the realization of His presence.
•    To pray is the greatest thing we can do, and to do it well, there must be calmness, time and deliberation.
•    If you would have God hear you when you pray, you must hear Him when He speaks.
•    Spread out your petition before God, and then say, “Thy will, not mine, be done.” The sweetest lesson I have learned in God’s school is to let the Lord choose for me.
•    Heaven is full of answers to prayers for which no one ever bothered to ask.
•    The penalty of not praying is the loss of one’s capacity to pray.
•    Prayer is not overcoming God’s reluctancy; it is laying hold of His highest willingness.
•    If we are honest, we must admit that much of our time is spent pretending. But when we turn to God in prayer, we must present our real selves, candidly acknowledging our strengths and weaknesses and our total dependence on Him.
•    Work as if you were to live 100 years; pray as if you were to die tomorrow.
•    Prayer is not a means by which we get something for ourselves, but rather a method of helping God get something for Himself.
•    Prayer is not learned by rote; it is experienced. Just talk and listen. It’s no more difficult than that.
•    No man ever prayed heartily without learning something.
•    Promises are given, not to supercede, but to quicken and encourage prayer.
•    Prayer is a strong wall and fortress of the church. It is a goodly Christian weapon.
•    Prayer moves the arm, which moves the world, and brings salvation down.
•    Prayer is not a monologue, but a dialogue; God’s voice in response to mine is its most essential part. Listening to God’s voice is the secret of the assurance that He will listen to mine.
•    From morning to night we should think to be too long to be without meat; yet who thinks it is too long to be without prayer?
•    As we are involved in unceasing thinking, so we are called to unceasing prayer.
•    Do you know what is wrong with the world today? There is too much theologian and not enough kneeologian.
•    What answers to prayer have I been unable to see because I am not in close enough communions with God?
•    We honor God when we ask for great things. It is a humiliating thing to think that we are satisfied with very small results.
•    I have often learned more in a one prayer than I have been able to glean from much reading and reflection.
•    Beware in your prayer, above everything, of limiting God, not only by unbelief, but by fancying that you know what He can do.
•    Pray the largest prayers. You cannot think a prayer so large that God, in answering it, will not wish you had made it larger. Pray not for crutches but for wings!
•    Don’t allow yourself to be burdened by any one form of prayer. Don’t tie yourself to repetition or set form. Simply engage in conversation with the One who adores you unconditionally.
•    Praying in tongues is the God within me speaking to Himself, allowing me to participate in Heavenly  transactions. What an honor!
•    He who ceases to pray ceases to prosper.
•    Prayer is, More Important!

ShoutOut Midvalley The Mummy

authored on Tuesday, August 12th 2008

What a wonderful thursday. I’ve got a free ride to Pavillion, a free treat to baskin robbins and a ride to midvalley after that!

What can go wrong?

Nothing. Except that Jet Li appeared in Hellboy.

Hah, Daniel told me it was hellboy and I had no choice but to shout out to the the shoutout next to me if we are in the right movie.

Took my phone out to light up the ticket for details……

Eeeee….. Wanna cekik daniel. But I laughed too much. General Ming and his army looks so funny.

Backtracking, we ate burger. The REAL burger. And it actually looks more than half as appetitizing as the one below.

At Carl’s Jr. Some of us arrived earlier, ate our share, and still am hungry…. even with unlimited carbonated refills.

As Steven and Wai Ming Wai Seng isn’t enough, in walks two more fresh meat!

And so, our hungry shark ate up 2 humans, 2 mammals, one by one, all the attendees died to this vicorious attack. It begins to target all the other members….

At last, all that arrived, got butchered, minced, cooked, stewed, processed, decorated, pasted, plastered, modified, coated, baked, barbecued, battered, braised, carved, larded, minced, melted, shreded, skimmed, smothered, whipped, wokked, marinated, scrubed, scrouched, steamed, chopped, chowdered, corned, creamed, curried, degreased, diced, druped, emulsified, filed, grilled, fried, dried, soaked, suned, mooned, massaged, advertised, delivered, exported, shipped, cargoed, tasted by many, we all became….

Shape of the ginsengGinseng Sex

Here are some facts I’ve researched about Ginseng.

  • Ginseng is prized in the Orient for its purported curative properties.
  • Ginseng is also used for diabetes, migraine, infections, radiation and chemotherapy protection, to aid in sleep, and to stimulate the appetite.
  • Ginseng is known as an adaptogen, which means it increases resistance to physical, chemical, and biological stress and builds energy and general vitality.
  • Since ginseng is such a valuable crop, the potential for theft is definitely something to take into consideration.
  • Most woods-grown ginseng is grown organically, and is six to eight years old.
  • Therefore it is believed ginseng is able to restore harmony to the entire body.
  • Korean ginseng is available as powder of the whole root, as cut and dried roots and as liquid or powder extracts.
  • Korean ginseng is also used by women for treatment of post menopausal symptoms.
  • In much of Asia, ginseng is prized as a revitalizer for the whole body.

And the best of the lot

  • Ginseng is commonly used as a source of energy, and it does appear to act as a stimulant.

That explains the sex shape of ginseng. No matter how one looks at it…. wow, natural entanglement.

Japanese Lunch Time Alone

Japanese Bento Midori

One day, lunch hour came. Hungry. Guess what… food!

Gee, when one’s hungry, cost is almost not an issue. Why not spend some on oneself after the day’s hard work?

Midori, a japanese food F&B in Cineleisure where I worked, has a wifi that’s secured but the password is… I forgot, some japanese food. bento? oh well…

Anyways, Bento is the Japanese artform of creating lunchboxes. These lunch boxes, Bento, is still used by workers as a packed lunch, by families on day trips, for school picnics and sports days etc. Often eaten at a gathering like a funeral or a party. However this time, I’m alone.

Though I can’t carry this wonderful tray with me back to the office, this bento is packed in a lacquer box and contains a lot of food. The only thing an original bento lacks is vegetables. The meaning of Bento is not a traditional Japanese dish. In this case, I have to say mine is almost civilized. No raw meat, no blood nor pretty girls that comes together like depicted in the menu.

Original Bento is made into the shape of a curved box by carving cedar or cypress, bending it into this shape, and then attaching a separate piece of wood for the bottom. In the picture is a curved bento box (made of plastic actually) used nowadays.

In the end, I suffered from dehydration from finishing everything single edible thing on the plate due to the sodium contained in the soup, sauce and soya sauce.

What can I complain? They gimme 10% off since I work there. Just flash my larnyard and I get my measely $1.65 discount.

Little Green Magnified

Macro Grass The wonder of nature.
The wonder of focus.
Stepping over them seems easy.
Until one steps down to see it from their prespective.

This is so random.
Solomon has 700 concubines.
Solomon has 300 wives.
What Solomon didn’t count on was his 300 mother-in-laws!

The man who loves one woman has loved them all.
The man who loves them all has loved none at all.

For all you know this little grass is the product of our ancestors’ decomposition. Lol.

ZZZZZzzzz…….
