Had a jolt at 5am sometime last week and I took my gun with me…
After snapping a few pictures I saw what lurks in those wee hours in the morning…

Anyone wanna guess?
Oh yea, don’t bother with the meta tags… the dog ghost ate them up

In great honor and respect to those who climb to the top of KK and down back in record timing!

During the climb in KK we all remained optimistic
Now that you are down here reading this, isn’t it easy for you to just “scroll” through 12 pictures in 6 seconds while we took 8 hours to get to the half way point?
There are a bunch of funny signs I’ve encountered while in KK
What’s the meaning of double quotes?

A bus with “Only In Borneo”, but from far, looks like calling out to you “OIB!”

A bus that swears “Get on the bus now or I’ll T.U.T. you!”

A mini van that staggers

A hotel that admit “defeet”. Would you stay there?

A tiny grammar error here. However holding on to it’s real meaning… they’re sold!

A direct translation of “everyone”.

Tells you how you can keep on annoying everyone as long as you’re quiet.

Steal a flower, pay $800 and get a TV

Steal a flower, fined RM100 (cheaper than the TV) and get a CCTV

The last final two best are kept for last.
This will benefit those who speaks mandarin. I’m quite sure some of you will get it wrong. TRY IT!

And the last… NOVUVU!
What’s novuvu? Sounds cute eh?

What do you think “Novuvu” means?
Comment! comment!

One of the things that goes unnoticed in the world is when you change the backbone structure of a website. Making it more versatile for future use doesn’t change anything in the front end of what visitors see.
One good example was a website of mine, all the products were drawing data from a simple xml page.
Everytime the file is called, it has to call the whole 1MB worth of page, to find just one product with it’s attached description. Talk about bandwidth eating.
Changing the whole thing to database-based, the whole step becomes more versatile as I can condition what data I want before importing the whole chunk in.
All in all, after implementing and migrating the whole xml into a database, it’s worth the day’s work. Though the visitors see no difference in appearance, it’s more of a convience on my side for adding, updates and deletes.
Let’s end the day with beautiful and cute!

The cap of the KK.

And the bold squirrel. Doesn’t blink an eyelid, one foot ready to snap the bread you toss and the other to escape in case you throw a rock.
When Billy Hughey was a teenager, he began a mission to make scripture more accessible to the layperson. He developed a color coded bible, known as the Rainbow Bible and it has grown in popularity since its publication in 1986. The bible is also available in Spanish and in Catholic, King James and Student versions. There is a software version too, which works by searching for a keyword or topic. An Indonesian edition has also been published and there are Internet versions in Chinese and Portuguese.
The bible is used by the clergy, students and Sunday school teachers as well as members of the public. It is a resource that can be used for people from all age groups and beliefs. The Rainbow Bible is sub divided into twelve different subjects, indicated by the different colors. All 66 books are themed in this way and there is a cross referencing section and 75 color maps that feature places described in the text. The themes are God, Discipleship, Love, Faith, Sin, Satan, Salvation, Family, Witnessing, Commandments, History and Prophecy.
Twelve subjects were chosen because there are twelve tribes of Israel and twelve apostles. There is information that gives historical background to the text and a list of the most popular verses. Quotations are color coded too and there is a table of biblical weights and measures.
The colors and the order in which the subjects appear were selected very carefully. All the colors and sequencing has significance in meaning. The first subject in the Rainbow Bible is God because God is considered as the highest and Satan is the sixth subject because of the numerical meaning of 666 that is given to the devil. The number 7 represents holiness and so it was selected for Salvation. There are Ten Commandments and so they fall into the tenth theme. Purple is the traditional color relating to God and the clergy, blue represents salvation because it is the color of heaven and silver signifies the experience brought by history.
The bible can be confusing when it comes to interpretation and teaching the meaning of the text to others. There is arcane language and unfamiliar customs and the various books were written during different time periods from various points of view. The Rainbow Bible is an attempt to divide up the bible into more digestible sections and provide the reader with easily identifiable themes.
Nevertheless, christianity has not be found tried and difficult, but has been untried and found difficult. The bible covers every aspect of living a righteous life, as God is righteous.
Did you know in the old times, when someone have wet dreams, they, and everything they touch (bed, couch, bowls, clothes) are deemed uncleaned until evening? One would probably not understand until maybe asking someone who has lived in the desert where water is scarce.
Even those of us who’ve owned digital cameras for quite a while can use tips on how to make better pictures and troubleshoot when problems arise. And beginners to digital photography need a little guidance to build confidence in their ability to take great shots.
Here are some digital photography pointers:
Ever see a fantastic scene outside your bay window at home or your car window and wonder whether you can shoot a good picture through glass? The answer is, yes, you can. All you need to do is stand as close as you can to the glass when you take the shot. This minimizes the effect of light reflecting on the shiny surface of the glass.
Example : a panoramic shot of memorial park. It’s actually circular, but this is a good experiment on taking my first panoramic shot.

Beautiful cloud formation. Either they are beautiful or they are the only things left to look when you are in cloud 9 of KK.

Would you like to take some shots of rectangular paintings to put in an online gallery, but fear they’ll come out resembling parallellograms instead of rectangles? Don’t worry. Digital photography can work for you in this case if you line your camera and picture up so that they are perfectly parallel. Mounting the picture on the wall and the camera on a tripod so that the center of the camera lense is trained right on the center of the picture should do the trick, and you’ll seem like a pro.
The view of the villages from the mountain top. Beautiful isn’t it? More appreciated when you have climb up to take this pic.

This is a so-so shot. No comment.

Have you tried to take pictures of children at play and been disappointed because the great scene you tried to capture is already gone by the time you push the shutter button, and you’re left with something not very interesting and possibly blurry? You might know the solution to this. Increase your shutter speed because that will help freeze action. Also, knowing that your tykes are almost always in motion, try to discern where the action is going next, and point the camera there, and you’ll have a better chance of catching the next perfect moment evolving before you.
A panoramic of the room we share with 10 people in it.

The view of coming down from KK peak. This is taken outside the station where they have to check your name tag or access denied.

Have you given up on nighttime shots because when you took pictures of your friends at an evening gathering with your new digital camera the shots were all way too dark? With this problem you do the opposite from what you do to get great shots of kids at play. You decrease your shutter speed-1/15 or 1/30 of a second rather than the standard 1/60 of a second should do it for you.
The view from the 7th floor of Marina Court. I love the way the picture turned out. The buildings are obviously straight, so this is called… reversed fish eye?

A scene taken from Laban Rata of KK half peak. Behind me the door which lies unlimited food and welcoming hot tea! Back I go…

The most important thing, though, is to read the manual that came with your camera, and don’t be afraid to try out all of the features to see how they work. Also, find others who are interested in learning how to make the most of digital photography. Share tips and go out on picture taking adventures together. You’ll be giving other people better tips than these in no time.
More clouds and clouds

and more clouds….

Ever since I was a child, I’ve wanted to learn martial arts. As far as I knew, there were two styles available. Keep in mind I was six at the time. Anyway, regardless of who I heard speak on the subject, they always referred to self-defense as karate or kung fu. Wow, does this ever say a lot about westerners! Sadly most of them still do this even today. The truth is there are over a hundred different martial arts. I doubt anyone could even give you an exact number, because someone is always founding a new style. This is totally fine and to be expected. As time moves on, fighting arts must evolve. It only makes sense. Standard martial arts videos people used to purchase in the 80s can be completely contradicted by ones created today.

So what are the good martial arts videos, and where can I find them? Hmm, this is a very broad statement considering the vast array of martial arts out there. The question is; what are you aiming to learn and/or accomplish? If you’re interested in learning Tai Chi on your own, there are a number of quality and highly recommended martial arts videos available. Or maybe you want to practice Brazilian Ju Jitsu with your buddy, but have no idea where to begin. I would recommend martial arts videos from the family who started this style. The Gracies have a number of desirable martial arts videos on the market now days. This is certainly becoming one of the most popular arts to learn for competition and ground fighting techniques.

Choosing a style can be tricky. So before you turn to the deluge of martial arts videos, I suggest you think about something. What kind of fighting system do you want to practice? A stand-up style or a grappling style? Close range combat, or a martial art that utilizes high kicking techniques? I can give you a few examples that might help clarify. Wing Chun and western boxing are both stand-up, close range combat styles. Brazilian Ju Jitsu and catch as catch wrestling are both grappling/ground fighting arts. Then styles like Tae Kwon Do, Muay Thai kickboxing, and Karate are stand-up styles that do a lot of kicking. This should help when you’re searching for martial arts videos. Remember, all styles have something to offer.

Somehow suddenly my eyes start to notice colors instead of <span style=”color:red;”>codes after codes</span>. LOL
I was suppose to eat healthier these days, and bought bell peppers as an expert suggested. But being a total kluzt in cooking, I’ve no idea how to eat it.
Mom then cooked omelette with all the bell peppers (red yellow & green) that are nearly 2 months old and it turned out tasty and colourful!

The pics has to be snapped quick because unlike blogger gatherings… there’s no red carpet for photographers ~_~
