Korea Trip Day 2 | Shopping Mart | Swimming Pool

Korea Super Beers

Do use see those beers at the bottom of the above picture? I wonder if one can get drunk drinking that much! The items that are really not cheap, if you see something that cost W1000, the price is almost USD1 which is equal to RM3.64!

If you have good eyesight, look at the green bottles inside the fridge. There is a poster and you can see in a very small writing ‘W1000′. What is that drink? I don’t know. It could be milk, or even beer.

Hotel Pool On TV

Can use see the swimming pool in the television? That swimming pool is resides in this hall below. Can you believe it’s a whole channel to show you what fun people are having downstairs. A free channel! Cool isn’t it?

Most of their channels are in Korean language. There is one channel in English which was playing CSI and there are some titles are in Korea too.

Korea Day 2 Steamed Pork | YouTube No Pok No Pok At All

authored on Saturday, May 26th 2007

I found this old video clip called No Pok from YouTube while I was in Korea. It creates such a laughter, I watched it many times and many other people follow suit.

Amazingly, after watching that we had steamed pork.Korea Steamed Pork
I tell you, their pork is so tender and nice, the only other pork that it is better than Korean pork is from China.

Unfortunately I have no pictures no video is to show you the pork from China. But this is the way one will remember, when the pork from China came to our table, we shake the bowl a bit and you can see the fat jingling and wobbling all its glory.

It was almost sinful to eat that pork from China. The oil, the fat, the sauce and the pork itself is too good to off. Eat now, enjoy now and pay later. Come to think of it, while we were eating we saw a dead pig about 4 feet long was being dragged by one of the workers into the kitchen.

Back to the Korean pork, it is healthier because it has less oil and the jingling wobbling fat.

Korea Trip Day 2 | Korea Room Technology

authored on Saturday, May 26th 2007

Korean room technology

What you can see in the above picture is the small kitchen of the Korean five-star hotel.

On the bottom left of the picture you will see a black stove. That black stove is run on electric city so that it will be more economical.

To the right of the stove is the sink. Observing the sink, it has a rack that l will contain wet dishes to be dried off. It is elevated so that water can drip down.

Above the sink, is the tap. The tap is like a shower head where you can twist to head left right up down and all around like a shower.

Above the tap, is a closet to store your cups and plates. That door uses hydraulic as shown below.

Korean Hotel hydraulic cupboard

You may be thinking, “five-star hotel should be better than this!”… maybe yes, maybe no. Every technology has its place.

Korea Trip Day 2 | Mysterious Sleeping Room

Mysterious Sleeping Room

The hotel for the first night. This room looks empty, but what lies underneath this room is a very good technology. During the winter, this room will heat up the floor and you will feel warm while you sleep on the provided mattress.

Cool eh?

There is also a pillow that can only be found in Korea. They load these stuff with grains of rice so it is quite hard. One usually place them just below the neck unlike the usual pillow when you rest your head.

It is rumored that it will increase your IQ the more you sleep on it and remove headaches and neck aches. Pretty good for just a bag of rice don’t you think?

Never Forget | How Very Special You Are

authored on Thursday, May 24th 2007

When you read this poem, always put ‘never forget’ in front of every sentence (exccessive repetition will be considered spuum)!

Your presence is a present to the world.
You’re unique and one of a kind.
Your life can be what you want it to be.
Take the days, just one at a time.
Count your blessings, not your troubles.
You’ll make it through, whaever comes along.
Within you are so many answers.
Understand, have courage, be strong.
Don’t put limits on yourself.
So many dreams are waiting to be realized.
Decisions are too important to leave to chance.
Reach for your peak, your goal and your prize.
Nothing wastes more energy than worrying.
The longer one carries a problem, the heavier it gets.
Don’t take things too seriously.
Live a life of serenity, not a life of regrets.
Remember that a little love goes a long way.
Remember that a lot … goes forever.
Remember that friendship is a wise investment.
Life’s treasures are people… together.
Realize that it’s never too late.
Do ordinary things in an extraordinary way.
Have health, hope and happiness.
Take the time to wish upon a star.
And don’t ever forget…
For even a day…
How very special you are!

What Is Forgiveness?

authored on Wednesday, May 23rd 2007

He came to my desk with the quivering lip, the lesson was done.
Have you a new sheet dear teacher, I have spoilt this one.
I took this sheet all spoilt and blotted, gave him a new one all unspotted
and to his tired heart I cried, do better now my child.

I went to the throne with a trembling heart, the day was done.
Have you a new day for me dear Master, I’d spoilt this one.
He took my day all soiled and blotted, gave me a new one all unspotted
and to my tired heart He cried, do better now my child!

****************************************

We have all sinned against someone or ourselves in our lives

Forgive others as you want the one you sinned against to forgive you.

To him who is forgiven much, love much!

Forgiveness removes bitterness in your soul, creates friendship and unwrinkle your brow!

A great thank you to the a teacher who wrote that great poem.

Korea Trip Day 2 | Cute Dolls | Bus GPS System

authored on Wednesday, May 23rd 2007

cute clay dolls

What is this? I think they look cute. Cute clay dolls. For crying out loud, that is the first place we went to all our work. What a boring place actually. All you see are pots and clay pots, clay dolls, clay stones, clay steps, clay this, clay that… argh!

Guess I am a city boy.

Bus GPS system

Now, this is more like it. The bus that we have for the tour have such a cool technology.

The tracking system on the bus its real time. The green screen at the bottom shows you where the bus is on any location in Korea.

The silver screen at the top, shows you a camera showing the back of the bus. No more horror stories of us squashing people from the back.

Upon closer observation, vehicles in Korea are left-hand drive. It gets confusing fall while then you will find yourself getting used to it. And when you come back to Malaysia, “why is everyone driving on the right side?”.

Korea Trip Day 2 | Traditional Table Setting For 4

authored on Tuesday, May 22nd 2007

Korean table setting

This is how Koreans seat when they had a meal together. Right in the center, is a barbecue pot to cook the raw meat. After the meat have been cooked, you wrap them in lettuce found on either side of the table. Together with it, you can mix and match with it, kimchi, garlic, seaweed or anything else that you find their edible to your liking!

If you look closely, all their utensils are made of stainless steel. The chopsticks and spoons are locally made so as to support their own country. Believe it or not it is a regulation in Korea to use own products Or they face tough penalty paying for imported goods.
