Just yesterday I made a decision to reuse some of my old hard disks. Whistling that everything is beautiful in its own way, unplugged my current harddisk which doesn’t contain the Operating System (OS) and in goes the old harddisk.
Just flicked the switch on when SUDDENLY “Insert Boot Disk, Failed to detect Operating System”
One will think ‘reverse what you do lah’! I did and still that fr***king error was still there.
This isn’t the first time and it isn’t everytime I plug an old HDD that will crash my computer. However it has always been my habit to backup before I mess with new hardware.
Backing up is crucial to one’s sanity. A wise man once said ‘you are as good as your last backup’. In other words, when your computer goes down, your life is back to the square of your last backup DVD (or VCD) found underneath your bed.
If you work online often, the internet could be your backup. But the internet do tend to crash too don’t they?
